Holiday Energy Saving Tips
It is easy to rack up your energy bill during the holiday seasons. Help alleviate those expenses with these holiday energy saving tips!
- Change your usual year round motion sensor lights, security lights, and any other exterior lighting to low-wattage bulbs. This not only helps with energy efficiency, but it allows your decorative lighting to shine and not be overpowered.
- Use timers to automatically turn off and on your decorative holiday lighting. This will save you the hassle of turning on the lights when evening arrives, and also save you money and energy by turning off the lights in the middle of the night when people won’t be awake to admire your decorations.
- Consider using decorative LED lighting. Many of these fixtures meet Energy Star guidelines, are energy efficient, do not emit excessive amounts of heat, and last longer than the usual incandescent.
