LED Food Processing Luminaire from Hubbell Lighting

LED Food Processing Luminaire from Hubbell Lighting

FPH Series by Hubbell Lighting

Food processing facilities have stringent requirements to ensure operations are safe and sanitary. In terms of lighting, it is often believed that fixtures must only be wet rated, so they can be cleaned and hosed down for sanitation. However, when it comes to food processing, there are other safety requirements for lighting fixtures. Finding luminaires to fit these requirements may be costly. Often times, this is the result of over designed luminaires that may or may not meet all the requirements necessary to be installed in the facility.

In this article, we will introduce a fixture that meets the rules of food processing facilities.

The FPH Series, manufactured by Hubbell Lighting, is a Food Processing LED High Bay that provides a solution to all the requirements necessary of lighting in a food processing facility. The fixture is ideal for facilities that demand a well-sealed high bay. It uses 220 watts and is an equivalent to replace 400 watt metal halide high bays. It is easy to install and a cost effective choice. See more specifications below.

Specifications
Wattage 220W
Equivalence 400W Metal Halide

The non-glass lens options make it an easy surface to sanitize and preventative for safety hazards. There are also no exposed fasteners or screws. The luminaire is easy to install and currently has four (4) different lens options available: Conical Drop Acrylic Lens, Drop Acrylic Lens, Sag Lens, and Flat Acrylic Lens.

FPH Series Certifications

Hubbell’s FPH Series is also certified in a multitude of areas.

This approval indicates that the lighting fixture complies with the DesignLight Consortium performance and energy efficiency criteria. Three critical areas that are measured: lighting distribution, color, and longevity/stress.

  • IP66 Rated

This rating indicates that 1) the fixture is dust tight and no dust will enter the fixture, and 2) the fixture is protected against heavy seas—water from heavy seas or water projected in powerful jets will not enter the enclosed fixture in harmful quantities.

  • UL-Listed for Damp and Wet Locations

This listing indicates the fixture can be used in both damp and wet locations. A damp location is an exterior or interior location that is normally or periodically subject to condensation of moisture in, on or adjacent to the electrical components of a lighting fixture. A wet location is an interior or exterior location in which water or other liquids may drip, splash or flow on or against the electrical components of a lighting fixture.

  • UL 1598A

This standard indicates the luminaire is qualified to be installed on marine vessels that use grounded systems. It does not meet the requirements to be installed on marine vessels used in hazardous locations.

  • UL Sanitation Certified

This certification indicates that the luminaire meets the environmental and public health standards set by the United States.

  • CSA Certified

Canadian Standards Association certification is a provider of product testing for a variety of electrical, mechanical, gas, plumbing and other products.
